Creating a Student

There are multiple ways to create students. These include:

1. Selecting an existing applicant and 'accepting' the student.

2. Navigating to the student's grid, and click the option to 'Create Student'.

3. Create a contact and add the 'student' role to the person.

or add a new applicant to the system by navigating to Education > Applicants and clicking on the option for Create Applicant.

A student or apprentice in the system is a role associated with a person. This role allows staff personnel to associate the person with classes and assignments and other items specifically intended for the student. There is additional information captured on a person when they become a student. This information includes items such as indenture date, acceptance date, current wage level, current apprenticeship program and others.

All three of the above-outlined methods for creating a student are covered below.

Creating a student by accepting an applicant

Filter and then select the desired applicant from the grid to get to the applicant profile.

Click on the 'Accept' button and click on 'OK' when asked to confirm.

Fill in the required student information.

Note that some of the fields are required when making an applicant into a student.

When finished, click on 'Save and Finish'

you will now be returned to the new student profile.
